Focus and Scope

Argumentos (ISSN 1021-2760 [print] / ISSN 2076-7722 [online]) is an academic journal of the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP), specialized in the social sciences. It publishes original research articles that analyze relevant issues concerning Peru and Latin America.

The journal aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and academic debate by fostering critical reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue on historical, social, political, economic, and cultural issues, addressing pressing challenges of contemporary times.

Its thematic coverage encompasses all areas of the social sciences, with particular emphasis on fields related to the institutional life of the IEP: anthropology, archaeology, political science, economics, education, history, and sociology. In addition to research articles, the journal includes book reviews and thesis summaries.

Argumentos is addressed to the academic community, researchers, professionals, and students interested in the social sciences. It is an open-access and free-of-charge journal: no fees are applied for submission, processing, or publication of articles, nor for accessing its content.

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. The journal is published biannually, in July and December.
