Review Forms

Argumentos provides peer reviewers with an evaluation form designed according to the nature of the manuscript under review (see Section Policies for the types of contributions subject to peer review).

The evaluation form includes a set of criteria considered essential for assessing the academic quality of the manuscript. These criteria include:

  • the relevance and originality of the topic in relation to existing literature;

  • the strength of the theoretical framework and the use of appropriate and up-to-date references;

  • the coherence of the argumentation, including the alignment between hypotheses, evidence, and conclusions;

  • the rigor of the methodology employed;

  • the clarity and precision of the language;

  • the editorial quality of the text.

The form also includes sections for comments addressed to both the author and the editor, as well as the option to upload annotated files with observations or suggestions directly on the manuscript.

A review is considered favorable for publication when the total score assigned to the manuscript exceeds two-thirds of the maximum possible score established in the evaluation form.

Regardless of the outcome of the review, reviewers are required to provide comments and suggestions aimed at improving the quality of the manuscript. The editor is responsible for forwarding the reviewers’ reports and comments to the author in anonymized form.
