Instructions for Authors

To submit a submission to "Argumentos", authors must register with the journal, or if already registered, they can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

Argumentos accepts three types of submissions:

  1. Scholarly articles (reviewed under a double-blind system)

ORCID: Authors must be registered with ORCID (https://orcid.org/)

Length: Between 7,500 and 8,500 words. This count includes tables, graphs, and a bibliography. Exceptionally, longer articles may be considered.

Citation style and bibliographic list: APA, 7th edition.

Text: Normal (Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced), justified. Standard Word page layout (top/bottom margins 2.5 cm and left/right margins 3 cm).

Words in languages ​​other than Spanish should be italicized. When quoting another author's statement, or any literal testimony, the text should be enclosed in angle quotation marks (" ").

Title and Subtitles: The title of the article should be in Normal bold and capital letters. Subtitles should be in Normal bold. Both the title and subtitles must be in three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Author: The author's name must be accompanied by the ORCID, institutional affiliation, and an email address.

Charts, graphs, and images: In addition to the text, charts or graphs must be submitted in a separate document in the original program (Excel or other) so they can be properly diagrammed. Legends for charts, graphs, or images should be in Times New Roman, size 10. They must be numbered consecutively (Chart 1, Chart 2, Chart 3, ... Chart 1, Chart 2, ... Image 1, Image 2). The source and authorship of the chart, graph, or image must appear at the bottom of the chart, graph, or image. Sometimes the data in charts and graphs has been taken from another author, but the information has been completed, reworked, or presented in a different way. In this case, we will indicate: "Prepared by the authors based on..."

Footnotes: Avoid referring to bibliographies that have not been discussed in the text. The footnote should be included at the end of the sentence and after the punctuation mark.

Bibliographic References

The order of the bibliographic references should be: Last name, (First initial), Year of publication (in parentheses), Title of the publication (in quotation marks if it is not a stand-alone text; in italics if it is), (number of pages if it is a journal article), City of publication, Publisher (if applicable). Whenever possible, URLs for references are provided.

Abstract: On the first page of the article, the abstract must be presented in Spanish, English, and Portuguese (maximum 200 words). The abstract must be in three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Keywords: On the first page of the article, at least five keywords related to the article's topic must be presented. The keywords must be in three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
